Vin DeGregorio • 2020 Blue Head Coach

  • Vin started his coaching and teaching career at New Canaan High School in Connecticut in 2000
  • After helping New Canaan win a state championship, Vin began teaching history at Putnam Valley High School
  • At Putnam Valley, Vin helped build a brand new program and was part of the staff that brought the team to its 1st section championship in school history
  • From 2009 to 2014 Vin was the varsity coach at Horace Greeley High School in Chappaqua
  • In 2014 Vin was named Section 1 Class B Coach of Year and is currently the head coach at Somers High School in Westchester County
  • Vin played at Hartwick College where he became the 1st 4 time All-American in the program’s history and was inducted to the Hall of Fame in 2006
  • As a Yorktown High School graduate, Vin was a three time Section Champion and 3 time State Semi-Finalists.  He also was a two time All-Section, as well as an Empire State Games participant

Paul Burke • 2018 Blue Co-Head Coach

  • Paul Burke has coached with the Connecticut Chargers since the program’s inception  
  • In addition Paul has served as a head coach and an assistant coach of boys lacrosse in Fairfield County for a total of twenty-six years, many of those 26 years were with the premier programs in the state; Darien, New Canaan, and Greenwich
  • Most recently Coach Burke has served as an advisor to the Staples lacrosse program, and played a role in the Wreckers state final appearances in 2013 and 2014  
  • In the 2015 season Coach Burke led the South Kent Cardinals to the HVAL championship  
  • On two occasions Connecticut coaches selected Paul Connecticut Class L Coach of the Year, and Coach of the Year for all classes once 
  • Paul’s teams have participated in five state championships and seven Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference championships as well  
  • In 2008 Paul recorded his 100th victory as a head coach  
  • The fact of which he his most proud however is that he spends a great deal of time assisting players in the college selection and recruiting process
  • Scores of Paul’s former players have gone on to participate at all levels of collegiate lacrosse, in the 2010 season alone more than twenty of Paul’s former players were competing at the collegiate level, half of them were at Division I schools such as Princeton, Colgate, Bucknell and Virginia  
  • In the summer and winter seasons Coach Burke is involved with a number of clinics at Sono Field House

Alex Majd • 2019 Gold Head Coach  

  • A 2009 graduate of Darien High School, Coach Majd went on to play Division 3 lacrosse at Drew University where he played offensive midfield and faced off for 4 years
  • He graduated Drew with the 6th best single season faceoff percentage and 10th all-time in school history
  • Staying on as an assistant coach after graduation, Coach Majd was part of the staff that won the 2014 Landmark Coaching Staff of the Year Award
  • After accepting an athletic scholarship to play for Durham University in the UK, Coach Majd earned his masters in international business management while also winning the 2015 BUCS National Championship
  • Selected to play for Team England, he also won the 2016 European Championship in Budapest, Hungary
  • While training with Team England he stayed on to be the head coach of both the men's and women's teams at Durham, winning the 2015 BUCS National Championship as a coach
  • He also spent time playing for the Walcountian Blues in the Premiership and was a 3X All-Yorkshire selection
  • He is currently back coaching at Darien High School with Coach Brameier and looks forward to debuting as the new assistant coach of Team Sweden.

Scott Bartush • 2020 Gold Head Coach

  • Coach Bartush is a graduate of Endicott College were he played both football and lacrosse  
  • At Endicott Scott won two conference championships, was voted all conference for two consecutive years along with being the captain of both his lacrosse and football team
  • Before entering college Scott attended Fairfield High School were he was also the captain of his football and lacrosse team along with winning a state championship in 1998 and being voted All State and All FCIAC in his junior and senior year
  • Since graduating from Endicott in 2004 Scott has been the Assistant Coach and Defense Coach at Fairfield Ludlowe High School. In the last 11 years at Fairfield Ludlowe  Scott has helped take them to the State and FCIAC playoffs multiple times along with getting them to the State Class S Championship game
  • He was also voted the CT Class L Assistant Coach of the Year in 2015
  • Along with coaching at Fairfield Ludlowe Scott has been a Head Coach for the CT Chargers since there inaugural season in 2005
  • He has also been the Assistant Director and coach for the Game Breakers Lacrosse Camps for the last 6 years

Micardo Celicourt • 2021 Blue Head Coach

  • Director of Player Development & Social Media
  • Micardo Celicourt is in his fourth year as a coach and Director of Player Development and Social Media for the CT Chargers
  • In his role, he assists student-athletes in acclimating to their roles on the field, in the classroom and in the community through the creation, analysis and modification of individualized player development plans 
  • A native of Norwalk, CT, Micardo graduated from Norwalk High School in 2000 where he earned several accolades (All-Area, All-FCIAC, All-State and team captain honors in 2000)
  • He went on to attend the University of Delaware where he was a four year letter winner at Attack/Midfield
  • Micardo also served as an assistant Varsity Lacrosse coach at Norwalk High School from 2008-2010 and is an active coach in Norwalk Junior Lacrosse

Paul McNulty • 2021 Gold Head Coach

  • Head Coach - Staples High School
  • Began his varsity head lacrosse coaching career in 1996 at Wilton High School
  • He compiled a 192-81 record over thirteen seasons, reaching five FCIAC finals, winning two, and five state championships, winning three  
  • He moved to Staples High School in 2009 to take over the lacrosse program
  • In only his second year, Coach Mac led the 2010 Wreckers to an 18-2 record
  • Over seven seasons his Staples teams have posted an 97-41 record;  have been annual participants in the FCIAC playoffs; have recorded landmark wins over traditional powers Wilton, New Canaan and Greenwich; and have made deep runs in the state tournament  
  • In 2013 and 2014, Staples reached the Class L State Championship Game
  • Honored as the Outstanding High School Coach of the Year in 2004
  • In 2010 he was named FCIAC Coach of the Year, CHSLCA Coach of the Year, US Lacrosse State of CT Coach of the Year and the Connecticut Post Coach of the Year 
  • In 2013 he was named MSG Varsity All CT Team Coach of the Year, FCIAC Coach of Excellence, Connecticut Post Coach of the Year
  • In early 2014 he was inducted into the US Lacrosse Connecticut Hall of Fame

Marc Saracino • 2022 Blue Head Coach

  • Head Coach - King Low Heywood School  
  • Marc Played football and club lacrosse at St. Johns University 
  • At Rye High School Marc was the all-time leading goal scorer in school history, which still stands today at 225 goals and 25th  All-Time in New York State 
  • Marc was All-State 1st team in both football and lacrosse junior and senior years along with the Super 11 top Athlete in Westchester  
  • Marc is also a two-time U.S. Lacrosse Assistant coach of the year for Connecticut- Fairchester
  • Marc has been involved with coaching multiple sports at both the youth and high school level for the past ten years
  • He has coached football, basketball and lacrosse for several years at the King-Low Heywood and Thomas School in Stamford, CT 
  • Marc is the Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach and the Assistant Head Varsity Football coach at King
  • Currently Marc works as the Assistant Director of Admission at King

Greg Lewis • 2022 Gold Head Coach

  • Coach Lewis graduated from Somers high school in Westchester County
  • He was an NCAA division I midfielder at  Manhattan College
  • Coach Lewis was the head coach at Dobbs Ferry High School from 2010-2013 and was teaching Biology in NYC
  • Now, a teacher at Stamford High school, and assistant coach with Darien High School

Dee Lawrence • 2023 Blue Head Coach

  • Yale University, New Haven, CT - Class of 1998
  • The Norfolk Academy, Norfolk, VA - Class of 1994
  • 4 year starter in high school, where he spent his formative years learning the game from Hall of Fame attackman Tom Duquette
  • 3 year letterwinner at Yale University where he played for Hall of Fame defenseman Mike Waldvogel, Duquette's teammate on the world champion 1974 United States Men's National Team
  • Played soccer, basketball and lacrosse in high school
  • Spent 6 summers throughout high school and college on Naval Station Norfolk instructing members of the U.S. Navy and DoD Civilians how to sail 
  • Also coaches youth lacrosse and plays club lacrosse in Westport, CT
  • Draws heavily on his personal experiences playing the game to help instill the concepts of poise, attention to detail, composure, and accountability, as an individual and to the team, early on at the youth level

Keith McGivney • 2023 Gold Head Coach

  • Keith is a 2004 graduate of Bellmore JFK where he was a 3 year starter at midfield and team captain his senior year.
  • During his senior year he was a recipient of the Nassau county officials unsung hero award
  • After high school he attended Muhlenberg College where he set the school record for single season face off percentage
  • After one year at Muhlenberg College, He transferred to Towson University where he won the 2006 NCLL club lacrosse national championship
  • Currently, Keith is an assistant coach at Darien High School where he has primarily focused on coaching incoming Freshman. Keith has been a CT Chargers coach since the summer of 2012

Steve Anderson • 2024 Blue Head Coach

  • Steve Anderson was a two sport athlete at Trumbull High School where he participated on the Football and Lacrosse team.
  • He was named All FCIAC for both sports.  
  • Anderson continued his playing career at the University of New Haven where he competed on the Men's Lacrosse team.
  • He also continued his football career playing Semi Professionally out of New Haven until 2015
  • Anderson began his coaching career in the spring of 2005 when he went back to Trumbull High and helped bring Trumbull to a Division II State Championship.  
  • He later went on the be an assistant Varsity Lacrosse Coach at ND-West Haven.  
  • Anderson has also coached girls soccer and boys basketball through the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference for the past ten years totaling over 30 seasons.  
  • He currently coaches Girls Freshman Soccer at Staples High School along with coaching Basketball and Lacrosse

  • Eric is fresh off his national championship run from the University of Maryland will be assistant coaching this summer
  • He was one of the senior defenseman this past year and established himself as a man down specialist after four years playing in College Park

  • Honorable mention ESPNHS All-American
  • Ranked the No. 10 freshman defender in the nation according to Inside Lacrosse
  • Ranked the 39th overall recruit by Inside Lacrosse
  • Two-time first team all-state, two-time all-FCIAC, four-year letterwinner for Coach Jeff Brameier
  • Helped lead the Blue Wave to the 2010 state championship and the 2011 league title

Andrew Pugliese • Assistant Coach

  • Played four seasons of varsity lacrosse at Darien High School
  • Won 74.8 percent of his faceoffs in 2015 to help lead his team to second straight state championship
  • Named team MVP as a senior
  • Was MVP of 2015 conference title game and was also an all-conference selection
  • Started all 23 games during undefeated (23-0) junior season, helping lead Darien to state title and number four ranking in the nation
  • Won 72 percent of his draws in 2014 en route to all-state honors
  • Named to 2014 New England Under Armour Underclass team
  • Was team’s top-scoring midfielder as a freshman

Kyle Cornell • Assistant Coach

  • Graduated from Darien High School in 2014
  • Currently plays at Bryant University
  • He was an All-American his senior year at Darien, winning 2 state championships and 2 FCIAC championships during his 4 years
  • During his two years at Bryant he has helped the team win one Northeast Conference Championship including a trip to the NCAA tournament

Harry Gillespie • Assistant Coach

  • Harry is a rising Third year at the University of Virginia where he played varsity lacrosse for the Cavaliers after making the team as a walk-on in the fall of 2014 
  • Before matriculating at the University of Virginia he was a four-yea varsity letter winner for Coach Jeff Brameier at Darien High School
  • He is a two-time FCIAC and two-time state champion in Connecticut and helped lead Darien High School to an undefeated 23-0 2014 season 
  • After his 12th-grade season he was named a US Lacrosse All-American, a first team all-state and first-team all-FCIAC performer, as well as a second-team all-FCIAC performer his junior year
  • He played five years in the Chargers Program with both the Blue and Gold 2014 Chargers teams.  He has found great success in his lacrosse career through his high lacrosse IQ, thorough understanding of 6v6 offense, and his shooting ability

Rock Stewart • Assistant Coach

  • Rock Stewart is a 2016 graduate of Darien High School where he was a four year, three sport letterman in football, basketball (captain) and lacrosse
  • His football and lacrosse teams are the reigning Connecticut state champions
  • Rock is a two year starting long stick midfielder, winning [three] FCIAC and State lacrosse championships, while earning top 4 national rankings in 2016 and 2014
  • In 2015 he was selected to the All-FCIAC lacrosse team  
  • He was chosen by the coaching staff to wear the number 12 jersey for Darien, in honor of former Darien captain Wes Barton, who represented leadership, sportsmanship, perseverance and scholarship
  • Rock will attend Williams College in the Fall 2016, where he will play lacrosse 
  • He has spent the last five summers playing for the CT Chargers program

Christian Hansson • Assistant Coach

  • Wilton High School graduate who was the captain of both the Varsity Hockey and Lacrosse teams his senior year
  • Now plays lacrosse at Hamilton College
  • He first started playing for the Chargers program in his 4th grade and was a proud member of the inaugural year of the program. He has been a member of the 2015 Blue team all throughout his lacrosse career
  • Christian is primarily a two-way midfielder but he also knows how to play attack and understands defensive schemes very well

Reid Melillo • Assistant Coach

  • Wilton High School graduate who was the captain of the Varsity lacrosse team his senior year
  • Attends and plays Division 3 lacrosse at Roanoke College in Virginia
  • Reid has been playing lacrosse his whole life and joined the Chargers program in 8th grade where he played on the top team every year since
  • Reid is a Midfielder that understands the game of lacrosse very well from all positions and hopes to pass on all of the knowledge that he has gained throughout the years

Will Hamernick • Assistant Coach

  • A 2015 graduate of Darien High School, Hamernick was a three-year varsity letter-winner and two-year starter for the Blue Wave
  • Led team to back-to-back FCIAC and state titles in 2014 and 2015
  • 2014 all-state first team selection
  • 2014 All-FCIAC First Team pick.
  • As a freshman at Bryant University, appeared in 14-of-15 games, picked up five ground balls, including two against Hobart on April 23

Josiah Wilson • Assistant Coach

  • A graduate of Kent Boarding School, Josiah served as the captain of the lacrosse team his senior year while also playing point guard on one of the best teams in all of New England
  • Before transferring to Kent, Josiah starred on the 2014 Class S State Champion St. Joseph team
  • During his junior season he was selected as an all state attackmen
  • This fall, Josiah will play Division 3 lacrosse at Denison University under the leadership of Coach Michael Caravana 
  • Josiah is a two-way midfielder who also play attack from time to time

Stewart Stockdale • Assistant Coach

  • Rising sophomore at Tufts University where he plays LSM
  • He is a graduate of Kent Boarding School and was the captain of the lacrosse team his senior year while also playing outside back on the soccer team
  • He has played close defense but is primarily an LSM
  • This past year Stewart was nominated to the All Western New England prep School Team as an LSM
  • Stewart joined the Chargers during the summer of his junior year after moving to Connecticut
  • He previously lived in Colorado and was a member of Team Colorado

Kyle Foote • Assistant Coach

  • Rising Junior at Loyola University in Baltimore, MD
  • Played basketball and lacrosse player at Greenwich High School
  • Scored 28 goals and had 33 assists as a senior after tallying 21 goals and 25 assists as a junior
  • Scored 19 goals and assisted on 5 during his 2012 sophomore year
  • Named the Connecticut Player of the Year, in addition to earning All-American, All-Connecticut and All-Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference (FCIAC) honors as a senior
  • Was an All-FCIAC First Team member as a junior in 2013
  • Named his team most valuable player as a senior

Eric Foote • Assistant Coach

  • Played 4 years at Colgate University
  • As a sophomore, named to All-Patriot League Second Team as midfielder after finishing with 18 goals and nine assists for 27 points
  • As a freshman selected as team's Rookie of the Year
